Can I really use a perm kit to chemically straighten my hair and just not use the rollers?

Or what else can you do to chemically straighten it? My flat iron always fails 15 minutes later, and I also use the herbal essences dangerously straight hair spray stuff to use with your iron. Also, blow drying it straight wouldn't work because i am incapable of using a round brush. Last two times i used one, I got it stuck in my hair!!! :) Anyway, I really don't have a lot of time to straighten it every morning and I was wondering if I could use a perm kit without the rollers. Any good brands of perm kits also? Thank you so much!
