Well congrats on admitting your faults and seeking the proper method of birth control that works for you. Mirena is a great choice. In my practice it works wonderfully with little to no side effects and is just a little uncomfortable during placement. If later you choose to have children Mirena can be easily removed by your doctor. Hope this helps.
